Vito Gatto

Vito Gatto got his degree in violin at Giuseppe Verdi conservatory in Milan with the purpose of producing music in non-classical music contexts. He was able to do this because he gained strong experience in the Ableton Live software and because he studied electronic music at the Conservatorio Music School. His idea of production merges orchestral, electronic and experimental music. He created music for several organizations and companies such as Legambiente, Etro, Magnolia and for Milan municipality.
Since 2004 he has been part of the rock/pop/alternative project Io?drama as violin player and arranger. Within this project Vito Gatto had three heavy rotation singles on several Italian radio stations (Radio2, Virgin Radio, Mtv, Rock Tv). With Io?drama he also has been intensively touring as violin, keyboard and sinth player. Live acts he has been part of include: Cayne, Aim, Mesmerize, Rumori dal Fondo, La Nuit, Distinto. Since 2011 he has been also collaborating with theremin player Lydia Kavina. In 2014 he has played with seminal industrial band Einstürzende Neubauten in their Italian tour. With them he had the opportunity of putting on stage his solo Project. He has recorded bowed strings instruments in studio registrations with Renga, Julio Iglesias Jr, The Voice of Italy, Sandro Mussida, Jacky0, Grand River, Modá.
